Title I Announcements 2011-2012 Title I ProgramFor the 2011-2012 school year, the Fort Payne City School System will receive approximately $561,000.00 from the U.S. Department of Education for our federally funded Title I program. These funds can be used to help identify struggling students and provide timely assistance to help them meet our state's educational standards; purchase supplemental staff/programs/materials/supplies; conduct parental
involvement meetings/trainings/activities; recruit/hire/retain highly qualified teachers. Because all four of our schools (Wills Valley Elementary, Williams Avenue Elementary, Fort Payne Middle School and Fort Payne High School), are considered "Schoolwide" Title I schools, funds can be spent to help all students that attend our school system. Title I funds target the reading and math programs at each school. Each school also has a Title I parental involvement tab on their web site that you may click on if you would like information about becoming more involved in your child's education and/or volunteering at your child's school. If you are interested in learning more about the Title I program, you may contact your child's school principal or call the Fort Payne City School's Central Office at 256-845-0915. Title I Files
